The magnificent Macerata Opera Festival is one of the oldest and most prestigious open-air summer opera festivals in Italy. It takes place in the Sferisterio, a fascinating venue built between 1820 and 1829 at the behest of the city’s “Cento consorti” (the one hundred consorts), when it was intended
for playing the ball game with armlet. The orchestra pit is so wide that musicians at each end cannot hear each other.

The Magic Flute is an opera in two acts by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. Is there a more crowd-pleasing opera than The Magic Flute It combines spoken dialogue with arias and ensembles, and relies on spectacular visual effects, the opera ripe with all of the essential fairy tale elements. There is quintessential battle between good and evil where love endures and conquers all.
